CICERONE is bringing together countries, regions and cities committed to delivering circular economy research & innovation programmes in a joint and systemic way, via a new platform to that will increase knowledge sharing, networking, collaboration and co-creation.
A transition to a circular economy means changing the entire system: we need commitment from actors across the board to reach our vision
Public funding is the key source of financing for Circular Economy Research & Innovation programmes:
70% are financed at national level, 18% at regional and 8% at European level.
However, national and regional strategies are partly contradictive throughout Europe, leading to fragmentation and lack of alignment on priorities for the circular economy.
We need a more systemic and integrative approach to meet this challenge.
We are preparing a Strategic Research & Innovation Agenda (SRIA) to support owners and designers of circular economy programmes in delivering systemic, joint initiatives for circular economy research & innovation.
